Asher Ginsberg (1856 - 1927), the
founder of Cultural Zionism
"a bitter foe of Herzl and the mentor of
Weizmann."
"The Jewish people, are destined
to rule over Palestine and
manage all its affairs in its
own way, without regard to the
consent or non-consent of its
present inhabitants. For this
rebuilding, it might be
understood is only the renewal
of the ancient rights of the
Jews, which overrides the rights
of the present inhabitants, who
have wrongly established their
national home and on a land not
their own."
Ginsberg, Asher [Ahad Ha-'Am], Ten
Essays on Zionism and Judaism. trans.
from Hebrew
by
Leon Simon. London: Routledge. 1922. As
quoted in the Catholic Herald, 17th
July 1936
"My land" is somehow strange. The indigenous people of West Bank, or Samaria as it wasn called earlier, are Samaritans who converted to Islam several hundred years ago. More or less voluntarily.
ReplyAnd today come Asians (or Mongols or whatever they are) from Russia and displace people, whose ancestors had been Jews from their land.
This is odd. Like if Chinese Muslims would invade Saudia Arabia and reclaim their sacred sites.
