The Hakenkreuzler leader referred to in
this article is Dr.
Walter Reihl (1881-1955).
..
Hakenkreuz is German
for swastika,
although the literal translation
is: Haken = hook, Kreuz = cross
It has been alleged that
Hitler adopted the swastika symbol from
an earlier antisemitic German
group named Hakenkreuzler,
but in Mein Kampf, Hitler describes how
he decided
on the angle
and proportions of the arms by mid-1920.
But an identical swastika to Hitler's
swastika, was
used on bank
notes in
post-February Revolution Russia from
1917.
