gave and a deposition,
affidavit, or testified at a trial
immediate after the war, all claimed
4,000,000 (Jews only in 2 cases) were
killed at Auschwitz
Shlomo Dragon spent almost 2 years
killing Jews at
Auschwitz II, in his May
17, 1945 deposition he stated:
"I am unable to say the exact number of Jews of other origin gassed at Auschwitz (except for 70,000 Greek Jews burned in 1943). I think the total number gassed in the two Bunkers and the four Krematorien exceeded 4 million."
Henryk Tauber spent almost 2 years
killing Jews at
Auschwitz I & II, in his May 24, 1945
deposition he stated:
"I imagine that during the period in which I worked in the Krematorien as a member of the Sonderkommando, a total of about 2 million people were gassed. During my time in Auschwitz, I was able to talk to various prisoners who had worked in the Krematorien and the Bunkers before my arrival. They told me that I was not among the first to do this work, and that before I came another 2 million people had already been gassed in Bunkers 1 and 2 and Krematorium I. Adding up, the total number of people gassed in Auschwitz amounted to about 4 million."
Polish Jew Hadassah (Ada) Bimko
Rosensaft, who was forced to work as
a doctor
at Auschwitz stated on September 17,
1945, under oath at the Belsen
Trial:
"One of those who took part in these Kommandos told me that other members of the Kommandos before being gassed had complete records of all these transports which arrived, and then eventually were destroyed. He himself, in fact, kept records also and he said that the number of Jews who were destroyed in this gas chamber would be about four million."
In her affidavit for the trial she
said:
"I have examined the records of the numbers cremated and I say that the records show that about 4,000,000 persons were cremated at the camp (Auschwitz). I say that from my own observation I have no doubt that at least this number were exterminated."
Dr. Charles Bendel claims he spent
over a year working as a doctor at
Auschwitz-Birkenau.
He testified at two trials in 1945,
the Belsen trial of Joseph Kramer &
44 others, plus
the trial of Zyklon B inventor Bruno
Tesch. In his testimony at the Tesch
trial on
March 2, 1945, he states numerous
times that 4,000,000 were killed at
Auschwitz

Heinrich Neumann (religious affiliation unknown) submitted and affidavit to
the Nuremberg trials dated April 13, 1945 (PS-2222), he was prisoner at the
Auschwitz camps from the summer of 1941 until January 1945, he stated:
"I was taken in a working group to Birkenau and was able to observe the process of gassing of the transports which arrived. In my estimation, in the years 1940 - 1944 four million people were gassed there."Nuremberg Trial document PS-2222
