Molotov was referring to the Polish ambassador's demand from the Soviet leadership (supposedly Poland's ally), for an investigation by the International Polish Red Cross, following the highly publicised German exhumation of the mass grave of 4,000 Polish army and police officers in the Katyn Forest, near Smolensk, who had been executed by the Soviet NKVD in 1940.

Molotov even signed the March 5, 1940 order that these officers were to be executed, but here he was, three years later, claiming it just Hitlerite slander against Russians. Molotov is a proven liar.

Above is from the cover of a 20 page booklet (pdf version) supposedly authored by Molotov in November 1941, and January 1942, and issued by the Soviet embassy in London sometime in early 1942. The Soviet ambassador in London at the time was Ivan Maisky (Jewish).

The booklet accuses the Germans of some bizarre atrocities; stealing children's toys, (p.4) harnessing Ukranian actors to carts—using them as horses, (p.8) and desecrating the grave of Russian literary great; Leo Tolstoy. (p.9) But the most repeated atrocity that Molotov claimed the Germans had committed; was raping women and girls. And not just raping them, but mutilating them, cutting off breasts, drilling into breasts and the like. It's highly reminiscent of the real atrocities inflicted on the women of Europe by the Red Army as detailed in Thomas Goodrich's 2010 book Hellstorm: The Death of Nazi Germany, 1944–1947. And extract of which can be read here. But I warn anyone unfamiliar with the book, it's truly nauseating.

I've posted this in an attempt emphasise the point, that a Soviet leader who co-authorised acts of genocide, then lied about them, and later even attempted to pin the massacre on the Germans, was simultaneously in the business of spreading wild claims about the Germans. Claims which are not only held as sacrosanct today, but which also inspired Red Army soldiers to commit millions of acts of savage brutality upon Germany's women and girls.
