15:35:
"there was a big emblem on the top of the gate [to the
Buchenwald camp] which said...; 'You enter throught the
gates and leave by way of the furnace... chimney'... in German,
a great big emblem"
21:10: "these barracks
were probably the last barracks the prisoners would be put in before they would be put to death in the furnaces"
26:10: "a glass specimen bowl...
in there was three sections of skin that had tattoos on them...
and the prisoner told
me... that when the prisoners would first come into the camp,
they would be lined up and the commander's wife would walk down
the line, and wherever she saw anybody with a tattoo, she would
point to him - and that was the last they saw of the prisoner."
"...they would get the skin off the people and they were making lampshades
out of them, and these lampshades were in the building there...
lampshades... made out of the skin of men, with tattoos on
them... One in particular was made for Goering... this was made
only of the flyers that went down in the war, that they had
taken these tattoos... from"

34:15: doomed inmates clubbed in heads going to the furnaces:
"... they would be told to go into this building, and as
they would turn the corner to the stairs leading down to the
basement where the furnaces were, they would be clubbed down the
head, they were supposed to be unconscious, and then rolled down
the stairs and eventually be put into the furnaces"
35:20: On a 5th April
1945 Nazi order to the German SS to evacuate
all the Jews from Buchenwald to the Auschwitz camp. (But it was
already liberated by the Russians in January!):
"... on April the 5th the order came down to the SS-troopers
that they were to evacuate all Jews to Auschwitz. They were
trying to clean up the evidence that might be left behind..."
