President Clinton: the best president the American Jewish community has ever known

Bill Clinton's presidency is beginning to recognize its potential for greatness. Smart and empathetic, Clinton has been the best president for the American Jewish community in our history.Though we as a community are frequently viewed by others as being monolithic and only interested in one issue - Israel, we know that these perceptions are incorrect.
Though Israel's security is at the top of the agenda of most American Jews, it is certainly not the entire agenda. Nonetheless, President Bill Clinton has been the most supportive U.S. president in Israel's hsitory. I have had the privilege of being with President Clinton on Air Force One and at dinner with him on the Saturday before the signing of the first Peace Accords on the south lawn of the White House and of having the opportunity to talk to him personally.
Clinton has supported these goals at great political cost, using much capital to get the foreign-aid bills passed guaranteeing Israel's positions in an environment that is politically hostile.
Conversely, Bob Dole has created foreign aid to Israel as not an "entitlement program" and has accused Israel of depending on Israel aid like an addict on drugs when he said, "Some people get hooked on aid and they never want to take a penny less. It's like drugs" (Jerusalem Post, Apr. 15, 1990).
He has accused American Jewish leaders of being selfish (Kansas City Star, Apr. 21, 1990). He has proposed cutting aid to Israel by five percent. He declared that "The American taxpayer has no interest in subsidizing the backward social economy in Israel" (Jerusalem Post, Oct. 11, 1991)
Bill Clinton has brought more Jews women and minorities into government than any other president in our history. Consider the number of Jews currently in the Cabinet. Consider the number of Jewish appointments made to the United States Supreme Court and to other benches since Bill Clinton became president. Compare and contrast that with the prior 12-year period. Look at the White House staff and its high percentage of Jews. Consider those whom the president considers to be his best friends around the country, and you will find that an extremely high percentage are of the jewish faith.
Bill Clinton and his administration have stood firmly to protect the sacred relationship in the public-private partnership. Jewish institutions receive 40 percent of their funding from federal and state sources. In Houston, the figure is approximately $4 million annually.
As a matter of action, as a matter of spirit, the American Jewish community should unify in its support of the reelection of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, both real friends of our community, as it has never supported a presidential slate before.

Schechter says Clinton is the most pro-Jew president in U.S. history. He reminds readers that Clinton protects Israel's $3.2 billion annual foreign aid subsidy. Israel receives more U.S. foreign aid than any other country in the world, despite having a very high standard of living. They do not suffer any type of deprivation. Note that he uses the wording, "entitlement program" as if they are entitled to this enormous sum forever!
Most revealingly, Schechter confides to fellow Jews that Clinton has appointed more of their kind to office than any other President in history. He adds, "Look at the White House staff and its high percentage of Jews. Consider those whom the president considers to be his best friends." He states that the percentage of Jews is "extremely high"!
More Boasting of Jew Power Over Washington
NOTE THIS ARTICLE CAREFULLY! The Jews make up 3% of the population. Study the Jewish piece below entilted "Our Capital Gang." It states that 35% of the members of the Clinton Cabinet are Jews. (Note: In the lower echelons they are over 50%!) Here they boast of their disproportionate representation in the Senate and House.
Now read that Capitol Hill professional staffers are up to 30% Jewish. These are the people who run the offices of Senators and House members. A 20% to 30% figure poses a grave threat to American freedom.
AIPAC, Israel's lobby in Washington, approaches every newly elected member of the Congress, offering them a list of Jews whom they can hire to work in their offices. It is insinuated that not having a Jew in a key position is tantamount to anti-Semitism! Thus most all will hire some highly trained Jew agents of AIPAC.
Here is a real clincher - there is a "Capitol Hill Jewish Staffers Association". Thus they are organized under that banner of AIPAC.
Jewish population in the Washington metropolitan area: 170,000 out of a total population of 3.9 million, or 4 percent.
Proportion of Capitol Hill professional staffers who are Jewish: Unknown. But five veteran Jewish lobbyists offer estimates ranging from 20 to 30 percent.
Proportion of Clinton administration Cabinet-level appointees who are Jewish: 35 percent
Proportion of Bush administration Cabinet-level appointees who are Jewish: 0.
Number of Jews in the Senate: 10 (10%)
Number of Jews in the House: 24 (18%)

Clinton Advisers: 5 of 7 are Jewish
NEW YORK - Of the seven advisers on whom Gov. Clinton relies, at least five are Jewish and perhaps six.
They are Robert Reich, 45, a professor of Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government; Ira Magaziner, 45, president of SJS, Inc.; Robert J. Shapiro, 42, vice president of the Progressive Policy Institute; Samuel R. Berger, 46, former deputy director of the State Department policy planning staff; and Michael Mandelbaum, 45, professor and director of American foreign policy studies at the Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
