Zionist media: Israeli government holds secret meetings with Yemen separatists (STC)

SANAA, June 21 (YPA) – Secret meetings are being held behind closed doors between the Zionist government and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), news agency Israel Today reported.
According to Israel Today, the STC is considered “Israel’s new friend in the Arabian Peninsula.”
Journalist Aviel Schneider wrote an article on Sunday under the title ”Israel’s New “Secret” Friend in Yemen”, in which he noted that behind closed doors, “the region is witnessing the birth of a new Arab state in Aden, Southern Yemen, the former British colony in Yemen, in the Middle East.”
“The Southern Transitional Council is being led by Major General Aidarous al-Zubaidi, governor of Aden province until April 2017. Aden was a British Crown colony from 1937 to 1963,” the writer said.
He added: “Surprisingly, at a recent press conference, the STC expressed a positive attitude toward Israel, although the question of official diplomatic relations with the Jewish State has yet to be discussed.”
The writer also pointed to the statement made by, Hani bin Breik, vice-chairman of the STC, in previous tweets about Israeli-Arab relations.
Hani bin Breik tweeted that “relations between Israel and Qatar are very good.” In his tweet, he recalled Shimon Peres’ historic visit to Doha and praised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent visit to Oman,” the writer said.
According to the writer, “many Israelis responded positively to these sentiments, and sent greetings to the new autonomous state in Yemen. Various sources in Jerusalem told Israel Today that Israel is conducting secret meetings with the new government in southern Yemen.”

The announcement claimed the “independence of the port of Aden” from Yemen, and also took a friendly look at the Jewish state, said Ariel Schneider, editor of Israel Today.
In a report entitled “Israel’s new secret friend in Yemen,” he claimed that behind closed doors, a new state in the Middle East had been declared: Aden, a colony in the south-western region of Yemen, where the South Transitional Council (STC) took control.
“Surprisingly, the South Transitional Council announced a positive attitude towards Israel, even though the issue of official diplomatic relations with the Jewish state has not yet been discussed,” he said.
The news agency said that many Israelis responded positively to the transitional government, sending their greeting to it. The report claimed that “Israel is holding secret meetings with this new government in southern Yemen.”This comes in the context of Israel’s ambitions for influence over Bab al-Mandab, through its nearby military presence (in Eritrea), and through agents supported by the United Arab Emirates. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in August 2018 that Israel would form a military alliance if Iran tried to close the Strait of Bab al-Mandab through its Houwthi allies, caliming that Iran was already threatening to close the Strait.
Ships bound for “Israel” from Asia pass through the Strait to Eilat, or continue through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea. Ships bound for the Jordanian port of Aqaba or Saudi ports are required to follow the same route, which the UAE is trying to use in Aden, and by force with groups it has formed on the country's west coast, located between “Dhubaab” and up to Hodeidah on the Red Sea coast.
