Report: Qatar Signs $50,000 Contract to Court American Jews
Qatar reportedly hired a U.S. public-relations firm in order to
'build bridges to the Jewish community'

Qatar, the oil-rich Gulf emirate known for supporting Hamas
and the Muslim Brotherhood, has reportedly hired a leading U.S.
public-relations firm in order to improve its image among the American
Jewish community. According to a report published this week
on O'dwyer's Report, a website specializing in news about the
advertising industry, Qatar will pay Stonington Strategies
$50,000 a month for such purpose.
The report said Qatar signed
a contract with the public relations firm aiming "to strengthen
its relationship with the U.S. and build bridges to the Jewish
community." Stonington Strategies is headed by Nick Muzin, a
Republican consultant who had previously worked as a senior
adviser to Republican Senators Ted Cruz (TX) and Tim Scott (SC).
Muzin also led a public campaign against the Iran nuclear deal
in 2015.
Muzin was quoted in the story saying that "Engagement with
Qatar can only be in the best interests of the United States and
the Jewish community, as we cannot allow Qatar to be ostracized
by its neighbors and pushed into Iran’s sphere of influence."
Qatar is currently suffering from regional pressure and
isolation as a result of its' ongoing dispute with Saudi Arabia,
the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and other leading Arab
countries, which accuse the rich emirate of supporting terror
organizations and using its' influential satellite channel,
Al-Jazeera, to encourage revolutions in other countries. Israel
has also accused Qatar of supporting Hamas and hosting the
organization's senior leadership.
Steve Rabinowitz, a Washington-based political consultant
working with Qatari opposition leaders against the emirate
regime, told Haaretz :"Qatar has its own billion dollar
world-wide whitewash, I mean PR effort, that includes its own
television network. Half-a-million-dollars a year to court
American Jews is chump change - and we Jews are the chumps if we
buy any of it." He added that Qatar is "the one country that
alone is funding Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Nusra
Front."
