Shepherds war takes a poisonous turn

Police are investigating accusations by a West Bank Palestinian shepherd that
over 100 of his sheep were poisoned by Jewish settlers.
Residents of the community of Itamar near Nablus shot at him sometime after
midnight last night, while he was guarding his flock, running him off,
according to the police.
Police spokesman Rafi Yaffe said officers accompanied the shepherd to the scene
and found 123 dead sheep. The animals were taken to a veterinary hospital for
an examination.
Police believe the poisoning is part of an ongoing struggle over grazing land
between Israel and Palestinian shepherds, Army Radio reports.
