Dear brother rami,
I was very impressed with Radio Islam´s website.
It's encouraging and inspiring to see that there are sincere
people who selflessly push forward the struggle for
justice.
I'm a 22 year old college
student from the United Arab Emirates, currently studying in
the US. I'm the president of a muslim student association
and the human rights committee at my city.
I am all too familiar
with the apathetic attitudes of people, especially concering
the injustice that they do not have to endure.
I am also familiar with the fact that so many in the US,
especially the younger generation, simply believe everything
they see on the media, which unfortunately is controlled by
a small group of the so called 'chosen people.'
(always presenting one
side of the story or a story full of propoganda)
A lot of the young people
i have encountered here have no real sense of purpose in
life, nothing to believe in, nothing to fight for. They are
so consumed with materialism, pleasure ,and their 'selves',
that I sometimes think they are a decaying society.
I'm trying to get the
students here to 'think', to ask questions, to live up to
their true potentials.
I sincerely believe that
anything is possible in life. You have to believe in
yourself and never ever give up. I am passionate about
justice. I believe that we all have a part to play in life
to manifest far greater and just societies for all mankind.
I know it's not that simple, but it is an ideal worth living
and dying for.
I have Allah to thank for
the blessing of Islam, and I hope to prove to people through
my life and my example (Insha-Allah), that if we all lived
in Islam, we would truly live in a just world.
On behalf of the
organizations I represent and myself i salute your struggle,
and pray that you will always keep that fighting spirit
alive!
Asalaamu Alaykum.
